Greetings, Gentlemen:

I am apparently the only gentleman who feels Brooks dress shirts are too short in the body.

I am 6'3" with a fairly long torso and typically purchase a 16.5 x 36. However, I am constantly finding the shirts to be far too short and I am tucking them in all day long.

Does anyone else have this problem?

And why would Brooks make such a short shirt? Even if you are short in stature, I can't imagine a nice long shirt would be problematic.

Many of us have commented on this in the past wrt BB. I buy shirts from Lands End too, and found that some 5 years back their dress shirts were going the way of BB. A phone call to LE customer service (perhaps one among many) brought them back to sanity.

I think part of the problem is the current "style" of wearing one's dress shirt untucked with jeans, etc., so manufacturers have been shortening the tails to accommodate the look (and to save money - less material). Some companies (don't remember which ones, but remember seeing it recently) have even noted that their dress shirts have shorter tails for wearing untucked as a positive. The world sure has changed.

And based on my memory of buying BB and other classic brands in the '80s and the picture and movie evidence going back to the '30s - tails were much, much longer then than today.

Looks like you have the magic touch. Impressive. Now--any chance you could call Lands' End and get them to bring back the proper collar roll on their OCBDs? I've contacted LE about the dispiriting re-design of the collar rolls, but didn't make any headway.

Thank you gentlemen. Good thoughts.
I will say, I did contact Brooks about a repp stripe tie in burgundy and navy which was literally never in stock in size Extra Long. The gentleman advised that he would call my office when they received them in stock. Sure enough, about a month later, I received a call from Brooks advising they had it in stock.
Now that is customer service--well done BB.
