With the current sale on a BB, I am considering purchasing a pair of the Classic Bucks in Tan. Does anybody have any experience with them and can offer a short review? I am considering them as 1) They seem to be more supportive and sturdy than the current Bass Buck I'm wearing (really break down in support after just a few wears) and 2) The color is a lighter Tan that is in between a White Buck and the Bass Buck Tan (just sent my White Bucks to charity, just don't like the look on me).

As always, thanks.

My BB bucks are from 6 or 7 years ago, so they might have changed manufactures. They are very sturdy - a meaningfully more substantial shoe than Bass. They have held up for years to reasonably regular wear - well worth the extra money as they'll cost less in the long run as, as you note, they'll hold up so much longer than the Bass ones.

They almost feel more like dress-shoes like than casual bucks as they did take a bit to break in, but again, for the reasons noted, worth it in the end. I can't tell from the pic on BB's site - they look similar - but BB changes its manufacturers so often, that I can't say if those are the same as mine. I just don't want to give you bad color.

It's funny, in response to your post, I looked on BBs site, and I don't see the tan one your reference - only white, navy and dark brown.

My pair of BB classic bucks are just shy of six years old. I found my email receipt, and it looks to have the identical picture as the current Brooks listing. I can only echo what Fading Fast has already said. Your observation of the color is spot on, a fairly light tan. I'd have preferred them to be a little darker, but they are perfectly serviceable.

For what it's worth, I paid $138.60 in March of 2014. They are a very solidly built shoe, and I expect they will last a very long time.

Thanks FadingFast. I also have a $50 gift card to bring the price down even more. Here is the link to the Tan Bucks:

They look very similar or, maybe, the same in construction to mine, the only difference is that mine are more of a very short suede finish vs a nubuck. Based on the fact that the construction, to my eye, looks the same and that you'd be paying just over $100, I think you'll be happy with them. Good luck.

Ok. Thanks all. I picked up a pair at lunchtime today. As recommended in other reviews, I had to size up by 1/2 size. They are MUCH more substantial than the 'cheaper' shoes. I plan on wearing year-round. Also, with the current 30% discount plus additional 15% discount that last until tomorrow, the final price was $147. With my awards points and gift card, I was out the door for just under $68 cash!

Does anyone know who makes the bucks for BB these days? I picked up a pair during the sale this week. They seem to be well made. And like Oldsport, I had to go up by 1/2 size.
My last pair was from AE, the Boone. Unfortunately AE does not currently offer what I consider a genuine dirty buck.

I've bought mine last year in white, they run small for me. I'm a solid 10 and sized up to 10.5 based on a recommendation from the sites reviews.

When I got them they were and are still very tight and a little tough to get on. They can actually be uncomfortable during a full work day if I don't wear thin dress socks. Another issue I have is the left side of the left shoe's opening jabs under my ankle bone while the right show doesn't as if they were cut differently so I've have to adhere a pad to that side.

They're classic white bucks that get a lot of complements but due to discomfort I don't wear them as much as I'd like.
