Preferably something with a thin sole that does not stick out much.

The shiptons look great but i cant tell what they REALLY look like. I am worried they might be too clunky? I looked at their france site, the shape on the chukkas looks a little sleeker and leather sole vs rubber.

I haven't been there in a while, but...

...I really like Zelli's, made in Firenze (what can be bad, eh?). The site doesn't show the quality and style of these beauties, IMHO, and the prices are pretty good, too.

Chukka boots are not sleek. Forsooth, methinks thou seeketh yon 'George" boot, pronounced 'or-ghei', rendered in 'roughout'. In black, good luck. Grenson's Carson. You might prefer a single soul.
