Looking to get a new suit, something modern that will be good for business (wall street) and pleasure. Probably either dark blue, or dark blue w/ chalk stripes. single breast w 2 buttons and double vents in back.

I am 6'2" 195-200lbs, looking for a fantastic fit with reasonable cloth.. (I don't want anything too fine.. more concerned w/ styling & fit)

I get my MTM suits from a guy in New Jersey. I was referred to him by a friend who is an attorney for an investment bank in NYC. He is willing to travel to Manhattan and even Brooklyn to measure.

My last suit cost just under $3000. It's a three-piece suit made from Super 150s Italian wool fabric. The jacket is a one-button peak lapel with full canvas, hand stitched lapels, hand threaded button hole on the lapel and working sleeve buttons. The vest is a double breasted with lapels, and the trousers have a braces back.

Feel free to PM me if you would like his contact information.

I've always been happy with everything I've gotten from him.

I resent that Aaron! Try Frank at Ercole when he's back from vacation at the end of August. You could probably get what you want Bespoke for under 2k there.

Martin Greenfield is taking new clients for sure. I would also go to Oxxford. They will do a great job for you. The problem with a purely bespoke suit is that you don't always get what you ask for. the jacket is usually going to fit, but the trousers are the key. Crotch, waist, seat, leg/thigh area this is the problem area for most men. If you go to Oxxford or Greenfield you can try on various jackets and pants and see what fit you like and what fits you best. Then have them make it with your measurements. You can go in for 2 or 3 fittings if necessary. This is not a true bespoke fit but it is better than a MTM.

Why would you resent someone who is willing to drive through New Jersey and Manhattan to meet with a customer?

My comment had nothing to do with Brooklyn itself, only it's distance from central NJ.

And it's not like my friend's apartment is right across the bridge in Williamsburg. He's in Park Slope, right across the street from Prospect Park.

If you're looking for something a little younger than Oxxford then you might try Duncan Quinn. He's got two stores in the city and did a gorgeous suit for a friend of mine for about 3k. He leans toward the neo-dandy style, so if you're in the market for something a little edgier and one-of-a-kind, then check him out.
