Recently bought a pair of bean blucher mocs in oakwood and was pleasantly surprised: the leather is a little firmer and feels a little thicker, gone is the "plasticly" look and feel. These are more like the old style they used to sell years ago.

You can notice the improvement just by looking at the pictures on Bean's site. Care to share any in the wild pics?

The Jackman model has been serviceable for years, though it has never been all that comfortable to me. How's the comfort on these new handsewns? I went Rancourt a few years ago and never looked back.

I also have a couple of pairs of the Jackmans and these new "basic" ones are more comfortable and don't have the squared off toe like the Jackmans. also they have the darker sole. One thing I do not like about the Jackmans are the light colored sole and , the leather lining.

I just replaced my Bean Camp Mocs after 5 years of nearly daily wear. The new ones in Cactus seem very good. The leather is thicker and softer. I am very pleased.
