If it’s more or less a disposable shoe sure. If it’s a long term purchase prob not. Goodyear construction is the way to go. I’ve got some glued shoes that are great for travel. I’ve got many Alden Shell Cordovan that have a steel shank so they set off the metal detectors. Both can have their place.

I’m big Alden fan...they are not airport friendly however. The steel shank always sets off the metal detectors in an the TSA Pre line.
