What colors, aside from navy, are appropriate for a traditional metal-buttoned blazer? I am aware of green and maroon blazers being offered. Would consider green, but I have a suspicion that both green and maroon would make you look like an employee of a hotel chain! Are any other colors suitable? Unlike someone's comment on another active thread, I quite like metal buttons, and I don't like sport coats that look as if they were cannibalized from a suit. I was thinking of something on the order of a light to medium tan. Fashion crime or acceptable?
(I realize, BTW, that the true original blazers were bright red or striped, but unless I plan to sport a boater and strum a ukelele in a vintage-style musical revue, I don't think I'd be interested in anything like that!)
