One magazine I miss from the 1980s is M Magazine, which debuted in the early to mid 1980s, and lasted until about 1990 or '91, when it merged with Inc. to form M Inc., or "Mink" as it was often pronounced. Then it eventually really bit the dust.

But in the mid-1980s, it really seemed like a pretty nifty magazine. Looking through some of my back issues yesterday, I really impressed by how many outfits seemed "right", and didn't scream Miami Vice-era '80s, like a lot of GQ's stuff at the time. Its articles also seemed to be written for an older, wealthier, more upscale reader than GQ.

And of course, that lack of trendiness is probably what eventually killed it, especially when advertising revenues seemed to dry up during the recession of around 1989 and '90.

Anybody else remember this magazine? Did you like it? Is there anything like it today worth reading?
