For the members from Milwaukee: I'm going to be in town for work next week and was wondering if there are any good thrifting options. I know the city well having lived there for a while--hence if you can give only a general address or area I can probably find it--but don't know of any good clothes haunts off the top of my head. I'm going to be in the downtown vicinity and can get to the east/south sides pretty easily.

thanks much.

Milwaukee Thrift

In my experience, the best thrift shop in the Metro Area was the Penny-Wise Shop on Broadway, operated by the Junior League; like so many other good things, it is gone.

Might want to look at:
St Paul's Thrift Shop, 1324 North Marshall (East Side), 414-276-5520;
St Mark's Episcopal Church, 2618 North Hackett (Upper East Side), 414-962-0500;
St Mary's Parish-13150 Juneau Blvd (Elm Grove-Far West Suburbs), 262-784-6644;
St Jude's Thrift Shop, 822 Glenview Ave (Wauwatosa-Near West Suburbs), 414-259-0975.

Sure there are others--these tend to be hit or miss, compared to the old Penny-Wise.
