Again, please don't read if discussion of intestinal symptoms may upset you.
Wasn't sure if this is the proper forum for this, as there isn't a "Men's Health and Hygene" in the Community Forum (*wink wink Andy?) so I figure this is the most accurate place to post.
I'm paranoid about my health, to the point where I annoy my MDs for going to them with every little question, fueled by incessant internet searching. I've had gastroenteritis since Monday...well, Monday, I felt off and by the end of the day my body ached, Tuesday, I felt like a truck hit me and the diarrhea was insane, although no vomiting My GP told me to take Imodium and drink Pedialyte. I took the Imodium and felt alright (without eating anything mind you) for over 24 hours...no gas, bloating, or diarrhea. Then this morning the big d came back with avengence, but this time it was constipated. I know from my previous experience with Imodium that it helps wonderfully temporarily, but after its done, it almost compounds the original problem. thats what I feel I have now.
Is it just the gastroenteritis wreaking the havoc? Will I be better off taking the Imodium and waiting the virus out that way? Or is it better to let myself empty out (I have no idea where its all coming from at this point). I have been drinking plenty of water (at least 150 oz each day after Tuesday plus Gatorade or Pedialyte) and eating Campbells Chicken and rice soup with crackers...had farina for breakfast and Boars Head Turkey on a plain Bagel at lunch. (I guess the bagel wan't the best idea)
If any MDs can help, particularly Gastros I'd appreciate it. Should I still be feeling this way now, tomorrow? Should I be concerned enough to go see a gastro? Thanks, and apologies if I offended anyone with my symptoms and condition.
