The late Jerry Lewis was also a client of Anto (and, in the 1960s, of Sy Devore).
Anto has made shirts for almost every Hollywood celebrity during the 30-something years they've been around. They make shirts for just about every LA-based film or television programme that can afford their shirts. They can do an overnight turnaround for bespoke shirts for existing clients (for an extra cost)! That's why the films use them, beyond their excellent skills.

Anto Shirts of Beverly Hills and Sherman Oaks California is selling face masks.

Can't speak to the quality of the masks or if in fact they produce the masks
themselves, but I have always been pleased with their bespoke shirts.
Interesting post. I am also a client of Anto and have had them make me many bespoke shirts over the years and will continue to do so once things settle down. Their work is outstanding.

I am on their customer list for updates and news and received their email about these masks. I was curious about them so I contacted Anthony and he informed me that they are indeed made in house just like their shirts.

Honestly, I have no real intention of purchasing these masks. I was just curious about them like you were.

I thought you, and perhaps others, may find this of interest.

My first time hearing about Anto Shirts. Have to say, they have a very nice assortment of fabrics.
Hello Mikel. This is guest 588801 from the post above. Yes the fabric selection is outstanding. They stock a very large variety of high end fabrics from quality mills as opposed to the standard books that everyone uses. If you ever have a chance to visit their Beverly Hills location I think you would find it quite enjoyable.

@Matt S is not exaggerating when he says they can do anything. I have had a lot of bespoke shirts made by them over the years. Every time I request something (collar height, collar style, cuff style, special details, yoke, buttons, a rush on the order for an upcoming event, etc.) the answer every single time is "No problem."

My last order, before they had to temporarily close due to COVID, I took a several photos before hanging up my shirts. I have a family member who was thinking of making an appointment and wanted me to send him examples of their work. I thought I deleted them all by now but apparently missed a couple. I did delete all the linen shirts and semi spread collar shirts I had made up. However, a couple photos of the one piece collar shirts survived.

If someone can explain how to post photos I would share.

Hello everyone. I decided not to be a guest any longer and give this "forum thing" a try! Honestly, I will probably continue to be more of an occasional reader than a regular participant but who knows.

Here are the two one piece collar shirts I was talking about above. All the rest of the shirt photos (the linens and the semi spread collars) I deleted quite some time ago after receiving my latest order and sending the photos to a family member but somehow these were missed. I pulled the blue pique one out of the closet for another photo to show the French Cuffs.

I thought maybe some would find these interesting.

Very nice shirts! I particularly like the top and bottom ones. The soft pink with white collar and cuffs is a particularly good idea. Don't think I ever did one, and it could be very interesting and versatile paired with the right suit and tie.

Big nope on those. No top button, so no tie. Which means they are sport shirts, and, um...again, nope.

@happydays123 , I'd like to extend to you an official welcome! I'm really impressed with those shirts. While I would not go for a contrasting collar and double cuffs on a sports shirt, I can see that the shirts are well-designed and beautifully constructed. The collar is perfectly executed.

Hello again and thank you for the warm welcome and kind words. I certainly hope I can offer something here!

Interestingly, Anto's "house style" so to speak with their one piece collar designs is to omit a top button as they are not meant to be worn with a tie. In fact, given the design I'm not certain they would even work very well buttoned up. I also request to have them made slightly higher than their standard as I enjoy a higher stand collar when wearing open.

@Matt S appreciate your kind words and your points are well taken. These details are just personal preference. On my more casual or sporty type shirts (at least that's what I call them) I really enjoy contrasting details. Also, irregardless of the type of shirt, I just love wearing cuff links. I don't know why but cuff links just make me feel good!

Interestingly, on my semi spread collar shirts that I wear with a tie I normally skip the contrasting collar and cuffs. Once again, just personal preference.

To a certain extent I wish I was better equipped to take photos as these really don't do justice to the color and quality of the fabrics. The pink shirt is a micro check design that is wonderful. I had an identical one made in blue. I took a close up to show the fabric details.

Once again I just thought some may find this interesting. Thanks again for the nice welcome and kind words.

It's not just Anto's house style to omit the collar button. It's fairly standard on a one-piece collar such as this to not have a button. I've seen such collars from a number of different shirtmakers.

@mikel

No apologies necessary and a sincere thank you for taking the time to say hello and welcome me!

I see you are located in Los Angeles. Anto has two locations and meets with clients at both. However, for the full experience I highly recommend the Beverly Hills location. Also, from what I remember anyway, that is where they stock the larger fabric selection which is good and bad. Good because there is a lot to peruse and it's a load of fun as well as being very interesting. Bad because it's easy to start salivating and end up significantly overspending. Unfortunately I speak from experience!

In addition to the owners, the location manager Luis is also a super friendly guy and welcomes browsers. If you decide to go have a look I think you would find it quite enjoyable.

Nowadays, since my pattern is so well established, I normally have Anthony mail me fabric swatches and then do business over the phone. However, from time to time, I still fly out and visit personally to review my pattern and place an order as I just enjoy the experience as well as taking a little vacation. The surrounding neighborhood I find quite interesting.

The Mexican restaurant next door is very nice and a fun place. Next time out (whenever that may be) perhaps I will give you a heads up. Your schedule permitting, perhaps we could make a proper introduction and I could buy you a margarita!

Thanks again to you and everyone else for the nice welcome.
