I used to own 5 steamers. I just ordered one of these and then immediately ordered a second one!

It's the best steamer I've found. Hold lots of water (tap) and heats up immediately! Doesn't run out of steam and is so much easier to use that those with an attached tank.

Look for the link on either of these two pages:

It sounds very nice. A question, if you do not mind: do we have any leads on a steam cabinet other than the Whirlpool?

Andy,

how does this wicked machinery work on 6 ounce oxford shirts? I'm not looking for a perfect flat ironing, I'm happy if I get 70% of the way. My biggest fear has always been that these things never work quite well, and I'd hate to throw my student money away.

Thanks!

Sorry to revive such an old thread. I bought this steamer on Andy's recommendation and I had a question about how to get wrinkles out.

I know the instructions say to pull the fabric a little bit and steam it to get rid of wrinkles, but when the shirt or suit is hanging there and I pull on something like the sleeve, the entire garment will move and not create as much tension as I'd like to straighten it out. Since I only have two hands and one's holding the steamer, I've found this to be a bit of a problem.

Does anybody have any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

For a mans outfit, I am trying to figure out/ imagine where could/ would one want creases? I do not care for sharp creases exception may be for single crease trousers, but I do not see also as an issue if I go for Flat front trousers. - Thoughts? -

Also, Is this Dual Voltage from 110-240V AC? Especially the travel one as lot of us travel globally these days.

PS: Would prefer to not be dependent on a 240 > 110 Voltage Down stepping Transformer/ Converter - For high power items they're not safe. The flat to round pin, I have tons of those.

I have two steamers, a portable Jiffy and an upright steamer, which is on the floor and has an upright extension that holds the article being steamed as well as the unit where the steam comes out. I use the floor unit almost exclusively at home for this reason. When I hang (for example, a jacket) on the hanger, I can tug on the bottom with one hand whilst holding the steamer in the other. In lieu of this, I suppose you could hang the garment from any clothing rack and do the same. In my experience this helps a lot; the other thing I've found is that, with the exception of steaming a sheer silk/poly dress or the like, that the closer to the garment (ie touching) is much more effective.
