Hi,

I have always liked Polo Ralph Lauren for their shirts, jackets, pants etc because:

a) The fabric is of a high quality and long lasting.
b) The fabric is supple and soft to the touch. It feels great on my skin and between my fingers.
c) The style and cut fits my body shape (typically slim and athletic).

However, what I dont like (anymore) is the Polo logo on almost each item (chest logo).

I am looking for another brand which fulfills a), b) and c) without any visual logos. Can anyone recommend something?

Rather than a brand I would suggest a store with offerings that meet your requirements. Then find the brands you like in individual items. The materials from the classic Polo offerings were often the sort discussed on the Trad forum. For the cuts you like, I would try the Andover Shop.

I also like Polo style and quality but am not crazy about the logo on everything. Brooks Brothers still has some nice button downs.
For chinos, polos and shirts that are fairly comparable to Polo in terms of quality and are of traditional style, Orvis has some nice offerings.

If you're looking to avoid the chest logo, then you are primarily talking about the polo shirts and oxford cloth button downs. I know they also try to "brand" their cotton knit sweaters.

In terms of quality, generally, in ascending order for shirts, polos, pants, sweaters and the general country squire look: Lands End, L.L. Bean, Orvis

Some caveats:
  • Orvis puts it's logo on it's Polo shirts. LL Bean polos are very good quality sans logo, so are Land's End.
  • L.L. Bean and Orvis all tend to be "generous" or roomy in sizing. I'd recommend you get to some of their stores to see for yourself and figure out what works.
  • Land's End has a nice variety of dress and sport shirts and they punch above their weight class in dress shirts (with real neck and sleeve sizing). LL Bean's shirts are also very good and come in sport siziing (S/M/L/XL) or with neck/sleeve measurements. Orvis doesn't sell dress shirts at all, only sport sizing
  • The best scotch plaid flannel and chamois shirts are from LL Bean, period. (Orvis uses the same Portugese mill for the fabric, but charges more for their shirts),
  • Orvis, I hear, has amazing khakis.
  • For performance fleece and down jackets - go LL Bean
  • For waxed cotton and sundry wool field coats - go Orvis.
  • LL Bean has excellent quality and variety of sweaters, as does Orvis. Neither carry real shetland sweaters, unfortunately. You can those at O'Connell's, J.Press and Pendelton (cheaper)
  • Land's end overprices all it's items, so you need to wait for the super-frequent 40% off sale
  • LL Bean and Orvis have less sales overall.

Odds and Ends - up until recently Banana Republic sells very reasonably priced Merino wook V-neck sweaters. See what they have on sale.

I'm not sure how much you have looked to PRL for suits, sport-coats, blazers, etc but for tailored clothing, I'd recommend:
  • O'Connell's
  • J Press
  • Paul Stuart - more likely to have slimmer cuts
  • Hickey Freeman - more likely to have slimmer cuts
  • Andover Shop
Best of luck.
