Back to the topic of "what to wear", I'm firmly in the "rent a tux" category. No accounting (good or bad) for the individual tastes of your groomsmen (ie if they even will wear a suit after the wedding), and the issue raised with fit is exactly that, fit, not whether or not the guys match. If you want to be generous (and can afford it), I'd definitely pay for the rentals. Hell, I'd make an evening out of it if some/most are located at the same town/city. All get measured, all go out and have a good time. They are your chosen men, after all.
