Hi all,

I wanted to ask about people's experience returning worn Allen Edmonds shoes. I recently purchased the Surrey Derby shoes and after only 3 days they've been a huge disappointment. I've heard many great things about AE, but these shoes came looking worse than some of AE's factory seconds. Plenty of scuff marks, one shoe has a misshapen toe box which gives it an unpleasant looking bulge that now made ugly looking creases as well, plus both heels are already detaching.

Considering I got these at a steal, I was fine with the scuff marks and the bulge, but now there's other secondary issues that are significant. That being said, does anyone have experience returning (either repairs or complete return) slightly worn AE shoes?

Thanks.

Just curious, why now? You noticed the defects out of the box. Now you want to return them after having worn them?
Also, did OP purchase directly from AE or a reseller? These sound like "defects" that would be clearly recognized before even the first wearing, and while reports of heels detaching occur, I think they're somewhat rare, and perhaps an indication that the shoes aren't necessarily new (in construction).

As I said, I'm ok with the cosmetic flaws. What I'm not okay with, though, are flaws in construction of the shoe.

I purchased directly from AE. After calling them, they weren't able to offer a repair service or a replacement pair, but instead offered a refund.
