Unclear who you're asking, but if it's me I'm a writer, though I often write things about people in law and in the investment field. I always thought the tassel was a bit informal, which is why I asked.

In which city do you work? Here in the midwest, you'll generally be just fine with a nice tassel loafer.

My Graysons and before that the BB version, are my go to shoes whenever I wear a poplin suit (which I haven't in years) and when ever my Bals are in the repair shop. Come to think of it, many years ago, I had a grey herringbone suit and I usually wore that suit with the BB version.

I don't own any tassel loafers, but if I did, the only suit I would wear them with is a casual Summer suit. I think a lot of men would wear them with any suit.

I'm a lawyer and I wear them with suits all the time. The black graysons are great with a navy suit. I also own black park aves, but the grayson wind up being my go to shoe.

Of course. Graysons are a fine choice for suit wear. I did the same for a while until I bought a pair of 563s.

Sounds like the legal communities of Chicago and Milwaukee...they also do quite well with the blazer/flannels rig.

My ancient Alden/JAB welted burgundy calf tassel loafers fill in the same duties.

I'd wear Graysons or their moral equivalent with any suit except distinctly Savile Row London or Italian style (but then then would I wear that type of suit???).:icon_smile_big:

Navy blazer, gray flannels and Alden 666.

And, I reserve suede tassels for sport coats and more casual outfits.

I do wear the shell version with suits.

I have considered the Grayson more of a sport coat shoe than a suit shoe...the tassel makes it a bit more casual...I do see guys wearing it with suits and it isn't a tragedy, just not my first choice as a suit shoe...

I'm on my second pair of AE Graysons. The present pair are burgundy calf and I wear them quite often with a suit but, also wear them with more casual outfits as well. The Grayson is a very versatile shoe design!

+1. Agreed. I regularly wear my calfskin Alden tassel mocs with a suit, but also believe they are appropriate for casual wear (though I wouldn't wear them with jeans). Tassel mocs are extremely versatile.
