Take a look at this AE recrafting video that I found the AE site:

The video clearly shows that AE does replace the cork footbed during recrafting. They say that they can do so easily because of the 360 degree welt in their shoes. Seeing this I am curious to learn how alden replaces the sole without a 360 degree welt ... anyone knows?

"360" is not the key word - the key word is "welt".

Any welted shoe enables efficient replacement of cork bed in the sole.

Breast to breast or 360 - the only difference is aesthetics (and some price), both methods are equal as far as quality goes.

I know what a welt is ... but I did not know the difference between breast-to-breast AND 360 is aesthetics only. Thanks for clarifying.
