Which last is more comfortable? I'm considering a pair of AE Leeds for an upcoming trip(unfortunatley not in cordovan) or maybe a pair of Alden Welterweights or Plain Toe Bluchers. I know, the Leeds are strictly dress, and the Aldens are more casual, with the rubber soles, but which last is more comfortable?

Just curious, Mark S.

Each person's foot is different, but I wear a size 8.5 D in the Allen-Edmonds #1 last and an 8 D in the Barrie last. I wear orthotics and for me the Allen-Edmonds #1 last fits better overall. I like the fit of the Barrie last in terms of width, but I found the instep of the AE shoe is better for me with orthotics.

Comfort is not highly correlated with a last. Fit is.

Both of these shoes will be very comfortable if they fit YOU well. There is no substitute for finding your right size on a particular last.
