Thought I'd share a couple of recent purchases that are proving to be particularly enjoyable:

- Uniqlo Airism Micro Mesh Undershirts: I experimented with standard Airism undershirts a few years ago, and it was a terrible experience for me. I'm a sweatier guy than I'd prefer to be, and regular Airism shirts captured all my sweat and held it close to me for hours like some deranged personal assistant. Micro mesh is a totally different experience; it feels impressively cooling, and even when I did sweat, it seemed to magically dissipate very quickly. They don't seem to hold scents, either.

The low v neck, beige coloring, seamless edges and ultralight weight make the shirts completely disappear under even light colored and low buttoned shirts, while still providing nice nipple and chest hair coverage. Despite being mostly nylon, the shirts are soft and drape comfortably. An overall perfect undershirt for my tastes!

- Jay Butler Loafers: I've searched for the perfect casual burgundy loafers for years. I can't live with barely passable Cole Haan or Bass options, and Alden LHS are just too precious for an item I want to knock around in. The closest to perfect before now was the AE Cavanaugh, but the leather seemed to not hold coloring consistently and seemed to constantly sustain unbuffable scratches, and the overall styling was a bit too stodgy to work with shorts. Enter Jay Butler Cromwell Pull Up Leather Loafers.

The leather isn't as thick as the AEs, but it's much richer in color, and seems much hardier. Tons of wear has just resulted in what I'd call a delightful patina. The last and the sole design has a sleekness that makes them work equally well with both socks and chinos and sockless with shorts. However, the sleekness doesn't fall into being too fashion forward, they still exude a classic look.

I'd prefer flat straps instead of beef rolls, but the rolls are growing on me, I must say. Overall quality is just fine for the price, and they're super comfortable from the get go.

I don't hear much about Jay Butler around these parts, so I hope this encourages folks to give these wonderful shoes a try.

I've tried Uniqlo's Micro-mesh Undershirts and Undershorts and found both wore comfortably in central Florida's heat and humidity. They are reasonably durable and considering the price paid, they are a very good value. ;)

Thanks to a AAAC thread regarding underwear I have become a bit of a Uniglo fan myself. To get free shipping I topped off my order with a few pairs of Uniglo socks. The underwear are now my first choice and the socks are a good value at their price point for casual wear.

Now I will try a micro-mesh shirt.

Regards,

I thought I'd add on here: I enjoyed my Jay Butler loafers so much I bought another pair, their perforated leather model:

These loafers are pretty amazing! Like my other pair, they're extremely comfortable from the get-go, and the quality is a great value for the price paid. The perforations lend a unique but not outlandish look, and they're extremely functional. Unlike many "weave" style shoes, this design actually lets in airflow; you really can feel any breeze. I'd almost say they're strangely more cooling than sandals, because the act of walking creates a subtle suction effect, forcing in cool air through the tiny holes. A really, really great "vacation shoe."

I'm going to try and call it quits after this pair, but their suede models are quietly calling out to me also!
