Hey what's up? I'm doing a paper on fashion and was wondering what the consensus was on putting together a new fit. Like after finding the right clothing and shoe elements, how do you decide on what accessories you're going to add to the fit. For instance, I for one, buy the clothing first, then look around for accessories that would enhance the clothing. How do you shop?
Thanks in Advance for your help!
I think by "fit" you mean "outfit" which is not the way I (or I would presume any of us here on the forum) shop. As for "accessories" I think those men wear are very limited:
Watch - generally people select only one or two to wear with everything.
Cufflinks - only when wearing a french cuffed shirt. As for other considerations - there may be attempts to match metal to a belt if there is one, but otherwise, it's just a matter of personal preference. I think somebody could be quite happy with just two pair, one gold one silver in a basic pattern (e.g. knots).
Pocket Square - there are a ton of threads on how to select one and what makes a good one, but I don't think there are many of us who would build (much less purchase) an entire outfit on the basis of one, or purchase one only for wear with a select combination of clothes.
That's about all there is for men, unless you're counting ties or scarves, in which case, see the answer to pocket squares.
