About Polo Shirt Collars

I hate how a lot of my polos, the collars get really limp and foldy and whatnot. I like them the way they are when I buy them, very stiff. How can I make them retain the stiffness? Or is it a brand thing?

Thanks.

Just opened a package from JC Penny, Arizona Flex Polos. 69% Cotton, the rest poly/spandex. Collars are great right now. I like the new feel to them.
I’ve never had a polo where the collar is stiff when new only to become floppy when worn and washed a few times.

I’ve had good luck with Brooks Brothers in the past. I prefer a stiffer collar and brooks seems to do a pretty good job.

You've hit every polo shirt thread within the last year with this.

Those shirts must be out of this world!

LOL. Just opened the package.....
Arizona Jean Company? Man, that takes me back...

Assuming you aren't talking about a ocbd, I don't believe polo/tennis shirt collars are supposed to stand up. In fact, I've been known to iron them down if they develop a curl after many washings/dryings.

I sort of like the curl. I won't go as far as popping the collar, but a nice curl gives the shirt the sort of relaxed look intended for such a shirt.
I recall there used to be plastic pieces roughly the shape of a large guitar pick, but thinner, that were adhesive on one side to place under polo collars to stiffen them. Are such things still around?
