This is absolutely beautiful!
Made by Hickey-Freeman for their "Customized Clothes" line expressly for The English Shop of Princeton, this is absolutely cut from wonderfully soft and thick wool flannel with a lovely hand and drape. The cloth from which it is cut is a dark grey with a subtle berry-red and cream windowpane overcheck.
The suit is Hickey-Freeman's "Canturbury" model. The jacket is a 3/2 sack jacket. It is fully canvassed and fully lined with a single center vent. It has three button cuffs.
The trousers are flat-front and uncuffed; they feature interior buttons for suspenders (braces) as well as belt loops, and fasten with their original Talon zipper.
This suit was, of course, Union made in the USA.
The lapels of the jacket have been mis-pressed so it appears as a three button jacket, and not a 3/2. But since the roll of a 3/2 lapel results from its cut and not its press, this will pop readily back to a 3/2 lapel with a sympathetic steam and press!
Otherwise, this is in absolutely excellent condition.
