One might add Southwick. They're owned by BB now, but still trade under the Southwick label as well, I believe.

Do H. Freeman (once "of Philadelphia" and now of Westminster, MD) and Oritsky of Reading still make RTW suits? If so, they would be of US manufacture, I believe.

We lost Hartz-Oakloom of Frederick, MD, a few years back. They used to make for Brooks, among other stores.

John H. Daniel of TN makes MTM suits under a number of labels; not sure if they do RTW.

All Hart, Schaffner, Marx suits are made in the USA, which includes their namesake HSM line, all Hickey Freeman lines and Burberry suits.
Hugo Boss manufactures most of their suits that are sold in the American market in the USA.
Brooks Brothers' Brooks Ease line is made in the USA and some of their 1818 and Golden Fleece suits.
J. Press manufactures all of their suits in the USA.
Martin Greenfield who makes suits for the BB Golden Fleece line, Neimen Marcus, Marcus line and his own line of suits.
Southwick manufactures all of their suits in the USA.
Select suits in the Calvin Klein Collection line are manufactured in the USA
Oxxford hand makes all of their suits in Chicago, USA.
Edit: J. Press only has their Pressidential line and some of their Presstige line suits manufactured in the USA

Not to be too picky, but I think it might be more accurate to say that J. Press has all of its suits manufactured in the USA, not that Press actually manufactures the suits.

Press itself is not a manufacturer. It contracts with manufacturers who make things to its specs. Same of course goes for Brooks (except BB is sort of back in the actual suitmaking biz now by virtue of owning Southwick, which has long made the BrooksEase line among possibly other stuff for BB).

Back in the day, both Brooks and Joe Bank (which then had a plant in Baltimore) were manufacturing merchants--they actually made a lot of the wares that they sold. BB has continued to be so in a limited way with its shirt plant in NC and its tie plant in NY. JAB is now just a name; nearly everything is made offshore or in some Mexican maquiladora.

Actually, a fair amount of J. Press is made in Canada.

Which firm do they use? Samuelsohn? Coppley? (I'm guessing the latter.)

Coppley makes a decent suit, from what I've seen under their own label. (Tried some on once at a now-defunct Boston clothier; Simons I think it was called.)

For years, Press carried wool overcoats made by Cardinal of Canada, as did BB. I have a particularly nice and heavy BB Chesterfield that Cardinal made about a decade ago. Cardinal is OOB now, IIRC, which may explain why the last BB overcoat I picked up (last fall) was "made in China of fabric woven in Italy."

Press uses S. Cohen in Montreal. In Canada, Cohen is well behind Samuelsohn, Coppley, and Jack Victor. Still not a bad garment, especially on sale.

Thanks for the info Nolan, I had no idea that J. Press sold any made in Canada suits. I've never owned one myself but all the ones I've seen on friends and in their shop on Madison Ave. were American made, but I wouldn't doubt that as Paul Staurt and BB have many of their suits manufactured in Canada.

All of the "Pressclusive" line and some of the "Presstige" line are made by S. Cohen. The rest of "Presstige" and all of the "Pressidential" suits are made by Southwick. I have heard from at least one person that they are starting to use H. Freeman for some of the upper level suits.

Paul Stuart is Samuelsohn. Not sure who Brooks Brothers uses in Canada; maybe Jack Victor?

I have never seen a BB suit labeled "Made in Canada." Not saying they don't exist, but all the (mainstore) suits I've ever seen bearing the BB label have said "Made in Italy" or "Made in U.S.A."

BB overcoats from Canada, yes. Suits, no (TTBOMK).

I have Burberry suits in the Kensington model made in USA. I heard somewhere it's made by H. Freeman. Anyway, the fit better than Hickeys on my body (fat guy).
