Return it and get another. BB has some sort of a deal with many Italian cloth merchants. Look at the label is it "tasmanian"? If it is it is the entry level of Lora Piano. There are two LP stores in NY. One on Madison Ave and one in Manhasset but the same jacket may cost $2000. Also you might find some cashmere in another store. Again some poor quality cashmere will pill.

Louche,

If the tailor said it would go away eventually and you've had the jacket for a bit and worn it several times I would not count on it going away. I think Udeshi nailed your problem.

I can't really trust BB's initial customer service, for one. Not after an older sales associate (who should've known better) at one of their stores tried to convince me that I should buy 2 pairs of gabardine pants that clearly didn't fit. I'm 5'7" and wear a "short" size in suits and jackets and almost always buy "short" rise pants. The proper thing to do would be to have ordered some for me so I could try them on, but no. Instead, the SA was afraid of losing a sale so he wanted to have extensive alteration work done on the pants in a crummy attempt to have them fit me. I told him I'd think about it, then never went back for the pants.

No idea where you can get a blazer similar to the one you've got for $400.

I wear a long rise and that is the reason I stay away from BB. Except for chino's. That lack of a good sales people is going to be the destruction of all stores. As a summer job at Rogers Peet, NYC the mangement gave out weekly instructions on handling customers explaining new fabrics and suggestions on what goes with what. The only retail store that I know that still does that is Paul Stuart, NYC

It's defective. Return it.

I had a similar problem on a MTM from another store. Tiny fibers from the white sleeve lining were coming through the navy cloth, a mohair and wool. I returned it, and the retailer sent the coat back to the factory to change the sleeve lining. This fixed the problem.

I doubt that Brooks will go this far on a RTW. It is easier for them to give you a refund.

Good luck.

If you like the blazer a lot, you could always pay to have it relined. Won't be cheap though.

I doubt that BB would do it for you though, like brummell said, cheaper and easier for them to just give you a full refund.
