Actually, the better question is why doesn't Alden list all the sizes available for each shoe, or at least tell you what stores carry the less popular sizes rather than leave us odd-sized feet people (in my case, size 14) spending all of our time looking. I don't know your shoe size so I don't know if they'll have any that fit you, but check www.theshoemart.com (or call them on the phone). I know I've seen cordovan shoes in A width there.

Because Alden sucks. I am wondering when people will realize this . . . .

Actually, you can get cordovan in narrow in one of the lasts (it is marked a "C" but fits more like a "B") if Alden would just make the damn things. Their business model is apparently contingent on being out of everything, with a one-year wait for shoes. In other words, they won't be in business much longer.

The Website:

https://www.aldenshoe.com/cat_ane4_994.htm

Website will list the sizes that Alden stocks - from there, you can contact Retailers or Alden directly if you're not having any luck.

Look, I understand that it's a real pain in the a$$ to get shell cordovan - but I think you'd be hard pressed to find another shoe maker in Alden's price range that carries so much variety. They produce a lot of shoes in Shell Cordovan and I think they will work with you if you have reasonable expectations on wait time.

Stocks in the true sense of the word (i.e. carries in stock), sure, but the sizes listed are far from exhaustive of all the sizes of each shoe that can be found after long searching through various retailers.

Allen Edmonds is really the only alternative in the same general price range and with a wide range of sizes and width fittings (but let's not get into another "which is better - AE vs Alden?" debate).

The problem with Alden is that the delays to get out-of-stock items made up can be absurd, exceeding any "reasonable expectations". These are well documented here -- the wait time seems to range between 6 months to a year.
