I was listening to the radio to a commercial for a steakhouse this evening. It actually sounded somewhat appealing although not very geographically desirable for me, when suddenly they said, "But don't you wear a tie, or we'll cut that sucker off and hang it from the rafters." I immediately resolved that such an establishment would not get my business. Although I have no problem with dining out sans necktie--I frequently do--the fact that they would single out such a symbol of sartorial decency and gentlemanly attire offends me greatly.
Your thoughts, gentlemen? Have any of you been in such an establishment? Do they allow you to remove your tie or make a gracious exit? Have any of you actually had a necktie cut? I'd be pretty darn furious under such circumstances, I can tell you!
