I believe we've briefly touched on this jacket in the past as my mom was a fan of pendelton suits and she had a complete suit, (jacket and skirt) like that a number of years ago and I do seem to recall it hanging like that one does. I am not aware of womens clothing manufacturers advertising 3/2 roll jackets butI think that is a moot point with this one. It looks great and I hiope you wear it in good health for a long time
Thank you, Tom! Yes, I remember you telling me about your mom and her Pendleton suits! I mentioned in my other post that this jacket was gifted to me by @drpeter. He found it at a thrift store. No size tag. We assumed it's a boy's size and the overall length is more along the lines of a men's/boy's versus a woman's. However, you're absolutely right--it doesn't really matter, it is a great jacket, and I do plan to keep and wear it for years to come (keeping my fingers crossed)! And it's so versatile!

He's just a relaxed guy who grew up in a casual beach city in Southern CA, and has no interest in dressing "nice" unless he has to. We got married in our road cycling gear. Rode up twice to the top of a local mountain, met up with immediate family and a few close friends at the top the second time around, and got married!
Have you received the books yet, if so what do you think? "The Gentleman's Hand Book!"

I received it but haven't had time to dive into it!! Hopefully soon!
When you start to read it. there some funny quotes and pictures in there as well! One does not have to read all of it in one go! You can go yo any chapter you wish, regarding any topic that interests you. I hopw you find the book very useful and inspiring, Oh and helpful. If you have time, data (an good connection) the Chap's Guide and the Gentleman's Gazette may be help full as well!

I finally got around to reading the book! It was a delightful little read, although I admit I didn't learn much (perhaps I'm not a newbie anymore!). Oh, and I skipped over the chapters on shaving and beards. ;) Overall, however, it was entertaining! Thanks for the recc!

:) Your quite welcome. Of course you skipped of the shaving chapter! You may never know, there may be something you may need to look up later! Not being religious, just like the Bible, people don't read it like a novel! Just like the dictionary!
Did like the quotes and pictures? Also the layout and the font size and text spacing?

Everything was great! The sidebars and photos certainly added to the fun read! And the layout, etc., were perfect!

I assume from your name that you have read the OPHB. Although it is satirical, the litany of correct preppy clothing is still pretty accurate. Being a variant of TNSIL, it is not going to change quickly. An interesting question, one I could answer pretty quickly, is "What are the required items in the prep wardrobe?"

So the name "Colleen" shouts out preppy to you? I love it! 😀 Seriously, I'm embarrassed to admit that I have not read the handbook. I suppose that makes me wanna-be preppy. I've been meaning to purchase the handbook and now is the time to do it! Hmm...required items in the prep wardrobe. Included in that list are navy blazers, oxford button downs, loafers, khakis/chinos, repp ties, polo shirts,....I used to own a few pairs of Weejuns until my right foot began resisting. I recall you mentioned a brand that you're happy with. I miss my beloved penny loafers. Oh, does argyle (sweaters, socks) fall into the prep wardrobe?

"The Official Preppy Handbook" order has been placed, so I will soon live up to my name! :)

Argyle has a Trad following, but for truly prep sweaters go with Bean style Norwegian and Shetlands in a rainbow of colors. Navy is essential, but Kelly green and hot pink rock it.

I'm in love with this outfit!

Me, too. It brings memories of starting the spring term when there are patches of snow and ice but mainly mud.
I realize this is continuing to get off tangent from my original post, but would you include dirty bucksins (vs. white buckskins) and saddle shoes (suede tan "base" with darker brown saddle as well as a more "dressy" leather tan base/dark brown saddle) part of a preppy/Ivy League ensemble? I own both and are comfortable. I also resumed my search for saddle shoes that won't wreak habit on my feet (ordered two different styles--both on the casual side that would work well with chinos/khakis), but I'm not hopeful. Just wondering if the buckskins and saddle shoes would be considered "preppy essentials" or sufficiently preppy/Ivy league. Thanks!

Dirty bucks and saddle shoes both held spots of note in TNSIL days of your and are still well qualified, but in the 1950s and early 1960s dirty white bucks were at the top of the list. I lived in them until middle school. I still love them. Oddly enough, nowadays they are regarded as shoes to be kept clean and worn with seersucker suits. I like them better as knocking around shoes. Properly worn and dirty, I would be okay to bring them out in the spring, well before Memorial Day, and wear them well past Labor Day and into the fall.
