While this is my second account (just couldn't remember the old one), I have been a member for some time. I get a lot of ideas from many of you, I feel as though my sense of style has expanded based solely on the members here.

I just wanted to give you a heads up that Spier & Mackay is blowing out select suits and blazers, and extra 20% off:

https://www.spierandmackay.com/
.
I inadvertently stumbled onto the website a few months back (the showroom is actually 20 minutes from my office) and was able to grab two linen and two wool blazers for considerable discounts. I am amazed at the range in fabric, this is what's turned me onto them the most. When I was much younger, like many 20 and 30 year olds, I was mesmerized by labels. As I aged (and discovered this Board, I learned to look for fabric over label which in many times ends up saving money).

My favourite purchase is this one: https://www.spierandmackay.com/product/blue-stripe-seersucker---neapolitan-cut-102288-324522-ss20

The pictures do not do this blazer justice. When it arrived, the blue just popped, I've been counting down the days to the warmer weather so I can wear it!

But my question is related to this one: https://www.spierandmackay.com/product/angelico-light-brown-windowpane-2326-3362-22152-fw20

Admittedly, it's been sitting in my "shopping bag" since Christmas. It is so different than anything I have for the winter but I cannot let go of the stigma in my head of wearing a cream blazer in cold weather.

What would you do with this blazer? How would you match it, what would you pair it with, or do I just pass on it because of the lack of versatility?

Thanks in advance.

I can see it being paired with an OCBD+olive green moleskin/corduroy trousers, wheat corduroy trousers. Chocolate suede chelseas or chukkas.

Something like this picture on the left.

Realistically, I would pass. I don't think windowpanes like that look very flattering.

Yeah, totally out-of my comfort range. I agree.

Thank you for your note

Yea

Delish I am surprised. To the OP, I would pair that with taupe/brown pair hopsack, or or lightweight flannels, a light to mid blue shirt, single or double monks in tobacco suede or chestnut calf and you're the cat's nuts. Jodhpurs or Chelsea in same and I wouldn't turn my eyes.

No problem.

Sales are a trap IMO. Buying things just because they're on sale leads to closet rot.

I now put things on a "to-buy" list. If I still want them a month later and they happen to go on sale, then I know for sure I will wear them.

So what's important here is if you know you actually want to wear it, or if the sale is the enticing factor.

If you've been eyeing it for a while and truly want it, then have at it.

The likes are for engagement, LOL!

I'm still a newbie basically and grateful I didn't get zero replies.

Again, the fabric and price sold me but I still can't get my head wrapped around a cream blazer in winter.

Thank you to those who responded.

Hard to say since we both got a like.I thought you would pass on the windowpane and I would not.
Ohhh ok. To clarify, your thoughts were correct, I definitely would pass on windowpane.

No worries mate. I still feel like a newbie and learn things every week.

Shiny items are my weakness!
