Hi, we are Apposta, an Italian online brand for made-to-measure shirts. On our website, you can create or simply customise one of our pre-designed shirts. Apposta blends 4th generation Italian shirtmaker heritage with an innovative and intuitive online customisation experience.

You can create your own shirt by either customising one of the existing pre-designed shirts or creating one starting from the fabrics. Choose the various different features as collars, cuffs, pockets, fit and many more. With around 3,000 of the best Italian fabrics, you can choose from the widest selection, including great everyday cottons, innovative functional fabrics as well as the most luxurious Giza 45 and Sea Island cotton from the world's most renown mills such as Thomas Mason, D & J Anderson and Canclini.

You can also get your shirt made-to-measure by following our video guides, measuring a well fitting shirt, or sending us one of your shirts to clone. We guarantee the perfect fit. All our shirts are made in Italy and shipped in just two weeks.

With your extensive selection of patterns and styles, are you finding that some styles and types of patterns are more popular in some parts of the world and others more popular in other parts of the world? If so, what does the world map look like in terms of shirt styles and patterns?

Naturally, countries with warmer climates tend to gravitate towards light weight fabrics, in particular cottons with a higher yarn count, linens and zephyr.

Whereas customers from countries with a colder climate will look to have fabrics like twill, oxford and poplin that perform better in cooler environments.

In terms of colour, style and pattern, this always changes and is dependent on the individual, the need for the product and the amount of wear one can get out of the shirt and when and where he may wear it to.

There is no definitive answer, but we are happy that our customers are creative with their shirts, especially when they are confident in the fit of their Apposta shirts.

Following our informative step-by-step guide, you can then choose the type of sleeve, cuff, pocket, fitting and collar for your shirt. Input body measurements or select from standard collar size and attach to your order.
A summary of all your choices and allows you personalize other details from, monogram initials to options in collar stiffness.

Collars are the most distinctive attribute of a made-to-measure shirt. They can be the most noticeable feature, highlighting the style of the shirt. Worn in a formal setting, with a tie or dressed down, with a sharp open collar. The collar sets the tone of a shirt.

We offer 29 Collar styles to suit a wide range of tastes and occasions. Options include;

The Pin Collar
Rarely found in ready to wear retailers, the classic design of the 1920's remains a dominant style and a wardrobe staple for stylish men alike.

The archetype soft collar became customary, but a struggle to keep a tie in place due to the delicate fabrics used.
Attaching the collar to a pin, the collar gave a better shape and neater look.

Still worn today in a variety of settings, and still adds a touch of sophistication to any outfit.

What if you needed to be dressed for both?

The Convertible Cuff is born of the single button cuff, made with two button holes, which can be used to feed a cufflink through. For anyone who wants to wear the same shirt with cufflinks on formal occasions or with buttons at other times.

@GraceR , is Apposta able to adjust shoulder slope, such as strait shoulders? I understand if not, only one other shirting company can and only does casual shirts. Thank you in advance.

We are able to manipulate the shoulder angle to give you a more defined fitting shirt that's made to your specific measurements. You can detail any special requirements or modification on the comments section in you measurement profile.

Hi Adriel,
The soft collar is not completely unfused, but is similar because the interlining is very soft and thin, you might opt for this option with a more casual shirt. The stiff is the sturdiest and thickest, we recommend it only for those who wear a tie. The standard is in the middle, which is also the most versatile.

The pop up message appears when in the profile there are one or more measurements that significantly differ from the standard size. Our production team double check your measurements before producing the shirt and we will contact you via email if the measurements don't quite add up.

Ha, was on chat with Alessia when you replied, as thought you were busy and should contact customer service as suggested, and then post the reply here. By the way, she more than answered the questions.

I can add that collars can be changed if not suitable at no extra cost. This surprised me as never heard of such and to me suggests a strong desire to create to the customer's satisfaction (versus the customer didn't choose right).

By the way, am considering the Canclini shirting in cyan of Mock Leno. Have not come across cyan shirting and with the Mock Leno, see be a nice Summer season and especially Monsoon season shirt.

Supima Cotton Vs David & John Anderson

Supima® cotton​

Apposta offers shirts made with the Supima® cotton, also known as American Pima. Grown in California, because this premium plant requires a nice long growing season in a hot, arid environment. Rather than being rain-fed, Supima cotton plants need to be fully irrigated. It has a reputation for producing a smooth fabric that's soft to the touch, wrinkle-resistant, and ultra-durable.

Features of Supima® cotton

  • A stronger fiber that is twice as strong as regular cotton because the longer fibers have a higher resistance to pulling, breaking and tearing.

Cotton From Nile


Egyptian cotton, the king of the cotton world. Donned for special occasions, it's the fabric of choice for when a touch of luxury is required.

A go-to for dress shirts, the premium cloth is woven from extra-long fibres hand-harvested from a small area east of the Nile. This specialist yielding makes it's resistant to pilling meaning it becomes softer over time and whiter with each wash.
