Jockey has quit making the 90% cotton, 10% spandex briefs I've been wearing. I ordered some 100% cotton to try, but by the end of the day, the leg bands stretch out so the support level fails. I'm looking for recommendations for a new brand. I wear regular briefs, not boxer briefs.

(You get a little bar of chocolate with every pair!)

I am adamant about natural fibers for clothing. I believe, however, that for underwear, cotton is inferior to synthetics. This is due primarily, to synthetics' superior wicking properties. That being said, my firefighter son is looking for something that won't melt and stick to his tender parts in the event that his clothing catches fire.

Another possibility would be silk briefs, which have better thermal and wicking properties than cotton, and would not melt if one were to catch fire.

Smartwool makes very comfortable base layer tee shirts. Perhaps they make similar briefs.

Hope this helps. If I learn anything about Smartwool briefs I'll report back.

As I understand it, Ribbed-Tee is now offering undershorts. Their rib knit undershirts are, to my mind, the absolute best T-shirts there are to be had (they are the only undershirts I have worn for the past decade) and if the undershorts they are offering for sale are in the same league as those wonderful undershirts, they are indeed worthy of the OP's consideration. :thumbs-up:

Best, to me, is a nice snug fit that stays in place and keeps everything snugly (but not tightly) held. The problem with the cotton briefs that I recently ordered is that the leg holes stretch out during the day so that gaps develop in the groin area and if things begin to squeeze into those gaps, it's not good at all. As another poster explained, having a bit of stretch, like the briefs I have bought previously, helps keep the fit consistent throughout the day. To clarify the original post, I don't necessarily want "the best". I'm not spending $85 on a single pair of briefs. I have ordered a couple of trial pairs from Mark Weldon (around $20 per) and have looked at Duluth Trading Co. at about the same price.

I am super satisfied with TANI. I bought their silk cut hip brief actually a few days ago and now I am saving up to order a couple more. The material is a proprietary synthetic but feels unreal.

Many thanks for your long-standing support, and glowing endorsement :)

We are indeed about to launch our men's underwear (undershorts) line:
https://ribbedtee.com/hellojewels/

Sadly for the OP, we are not immediately planning an underwear brief.

We are starting with boxer briefs, and will likely add an additional longer inseam length first, then consider adding briefs.

Our launch product is utilizing our 146 gsm CoolNylon+Spandex stretch interlock fabric, which is pretty incredible, in 4 colors & 2 contrast stitch colors (8 variations in total).

For those inclined "Nylon" is also referred to as polyamide & microfiber in the underclothing category. It also has at least 100 other trademarked names, one of which is Meryl (from Nylstar).

It is abrasion & odor resistant, and has a silk-like hand-feel.

We'll be adding the same profile in our TENCEL+Spandex fabric relatively soon as well.

Regarding briefs, I unfortunately wouldn't be able to make any recommendations as I have not worn briefs in over 30 years.

What I can tell you is that the following brands are generally in the current conversation about men's underwear (in no particular order):
1. Uniqlo Airism
2. Saxx Underwear
3. 2UNDR
4. Mack Weldon
5. Tommy John
6. MyPackage
7. MeUndies

I welcome any questions :)

, Well hello ,got your email for preorder engaged the site got 3 items in the cart and should have checked out as a guest, Register page has done a partial and given me a "unhandled error" stuck in limbo with the items still in the cart waiting for call back... preorder couldn't be sold out too could it ? anyone else had success at nabbing these?

Just so happens that I was in need of new underwear, so I used a coupon for MeUndies boxers (~ $15/each) and also picked up a 5-pack of Hanes boxers (~ $15/five). Have had a chance to wear both. Verdict. Yea, the MeUndies are better. Are they 5x better? No. The Hanes boxers are soft and quite honestly just as comfortable, but perhaps not as "smooth" as the premium pair. I think there are a lot of good underwear brands out there nowadays, it's tough for me to think spending $15-20 a pair is a good use of my sartorial budget.
