Any recommendations for galoshes/overshoes (any difference?) that would protect my leather soled shoes in rain and snow? Are all galoshes created equal? Preferably looking for one of boot height maybe with zipper for easy removal

^ no but what's to compare? My Tingleys don't leak and they keep my shoes dry. Therefore they function as needed.
That's akin to dismissing a luxury car because a Ford reliably gets you to your destination. From the AE site:
Not only are SWIMS made to provide traction and protection in wet and snowy conditions, but they also feature a soft, insulating lining that buffs your shoes while you walk, so that they will actually have a better shine after wearing them and not the other way around.
DETAILS
Seamless construction of rubber and neoprene
Intelligent fit and great stretch
Waterproof zip closure
Pull on & pull off loop
Low friction when slipping on and off
Unique inner lining and insulation
Better grip on slippery surfaces
Shock-absorbing heel
Tear-resistant
Waterproof

Except that we're talking about rubber that goes over a shoe, not a complex mechanical device.

Allow me to debunk each of these as being unique:

1) My Tingley's are watertight. Neoprene is unnecessary.

2) I have no idea what intelligent fit and great stretch means. It's as useless and meaningless as me saying I'm a swell guy.

3) My Tingley's don't have a zipper but the Tingley's with zippers claim to be waterproof as well.

4) I have no need of a pull on/off loop. Mine go on quite easily.

5) I don't have a problem with friction when donning/doffing my Tingleys.

6) I don't need insulation. If it's cold enough to need insulation, I'll wear something else.

7) I've never slipped

8) The shoes I wear provide plenty of shock absorption. Inadequate shock absorption in a shoe cannot be made up for using galoshes.

9) I've had mine for 5 years and have worn them countless times. No tears.

10) See above.

There. I've just saved you $80.

I never even knew these things existed. I'm new to the "nice shoes" thing. Nice for me was something near $100. Then I started doing some research and found a local Allen Edmonds and now I'm ruined as far as that goes. So, it's good to also learn that there's way to wear the nice shoes even when it's wet and snowy. I'll definitely be checking some of these out.
