This one is even a bit less, 34 quid, Ben Nevis Clothing link

My friend bought one in February and very pleased with it. I have a Baracuta in tan, but I am going to pick up one of these in red for myself and a navy for my dad
Wow...how can these be so cheap? Would considering ordering one at that price, but I can't seem to find the cost of shipping on their site.

Blast! Those Ben Nevis jacs are a steal. Unfortunately I want a tan one and that's the only color they don't have. :mad2: Oh well, back to Peter Christian, I guess.

any idea on sizing?

also, since you had such an excellent suggestion for a Harrington, how about recommending a Bomber and a Field Jacket too :)

It is too bad Baracuta is so expensive. It's because they've become a bit trendy in recent years. Maybe when that bubble pops they'll come down in price again.

I really do think they are probably the best option. Anything else feels like a copy, to me. How about just saving your pennies for a Baracuta, or watching for a deal on the exchange thread, etsy, 'bay, thrifting, etc.?

Oldsarge, what size do you wear? I have a Baracuta I bought from another forum member that I may part with, Tan.
I wear a 44 and would love to help you clean out a closet.

London Fog and McGregor used to sell reasonable renderings of Harrington jacket designs. I've owned and worn out versions of both and believe I may still have a London Fog version in the closet. However, none have proven equal to the two Baracuta's sharing space in said closet!

Thanx for the tip on London Fog. I just dredged one up in the ebay. Looking forward to it.

I was not going to mention this, but I was in a Men's Store yesterday and they liked on my Harrington copy. If you just want to try the look, go to ebay and somewhere you will see a US free shipping of a less than $30.oo jacket, medium runs true if not a bit slim. No brand names in the jacket. Only Navy was offered last month when I got it. Zippers and seams still holding out. good luck

The Peter Christian looks nice. I have five Harrington - 2 Baracuta (British Tan and Green) from the original non slim fit, 2 Ben Sherman (Black and Original) - all 4 are the G9 type, and a Fred Perry G4-like Harrington in Olive. I wear them during the rainy weather. I still prefer the Baracuta G9 maybe because of the Frasier tartan lining which makes the jacket popped out when unzipped.

@ LookinSharp24 - Why yes. Sorry I'm a little late. I received the jacket within 5 days of ordering. I ordered the Dark/Navy Blue in a medium. I would say the jacket is Dark Blue, but not Navy, which is ok by me as I don't want to look like I'm wearing my Navy jacket. Size wise I would say it fits like a medium should, a men's medium that is. What I mean by 'men's medium' is that it is not a slim fit. It is very comfortable. I like the material. It as a nice texture to it, not smooth and polyester looking, as it shouldn't, since it's cotton. There is no tri-peaked vent in the back, it is just sewn to look like it has one. Some people may not like that, it doesn't bother me. Let me know if you have anymore specific questions.

P.S. When I wear it you almost can't tell I'm not Steve McQueen :)
