Hi:

I was curious if anyone could chime in on the quality of a jack victor suit in relation to their price. I ordered a navy Jack victor suit the other day for a little over half off (free shipping and returns; why not try it?). If you could provide any other details on Jack victor suits or possibly point me in a (better) direction of mid-range price point suits that would be appreciated as well.

Thanks!

They are good suits for the money. One of our local stores carries the brand and it's probably their best selling suit. I'm not a huge fan of the shoulders, as they are usually quite padded. That said, they are well constructed for the price. Good range of fabrics. If I found a model with less padding in the shoulders, I would consider buying at about 20% off.

I buy a lot of Coppley, which is a Canadian competitor of Jack Victor. They have a much larger MTM program with 10+ jacket models to choose from. Jack Victor has a much smaller custom program.

I wear a suit every working day and currently have 20 in my rotation. All but one of them are Jack Victors; I find them to be an excellent value for the money. They're made in Montreal; the jacket construction is half-canvassed. They get a lot of respect around here, which is a high recommendation indeed.

Thanks for the quick replies gentlemen! I'll have to check out Coppley as well. This is actually my first suit, I'm an accounting student and I'll need a few more soon. I feel lucky to have found the suit at 55% off (Bluefly.com President's day sale) AND in my size (36R).

I just noticed that you are in Memphis. Go to James Davis In Laurelwood Center at Poplar and Grove Park. Last week their semi-annual clearance sale was still going on and also as part of their renovation they have a lot of suits and sport coats at 70% off. Not sure if any Coppleys are involved but it might be worth you stopping in. I have gotten some great deals the last couple weeks. Going back Thursday to pick up a pair of Tommy Bahama silk trousers being altered.

Claybuster:

I was actually there last friday; unfortunately, they didn't have anything in my size. Actually, one of the associates told me that they didn't carry 36R's, they would have to order them. I also tried Oak hall who had a smaller selection of 70%( I think it was mostly the leftovers of their holiday/new year sale, couldn't find anything there either.
