A little poll - are suede shoes seasonal? If yes, which season?
I think it may depend upon the footwear. (At least it does for me.) My dark brown suede chukkas are fall/winter. (Because I say so!) And my very low cut, very soft brown suede loafers are for anytime, for the same reason!Another authority (Antongiavanni) has this to say:Dandies enjoy suede, which in brown not only goes with everything but goes best with anything. Some wear none but this... Astaire favored them above all other shoes..." The Suit, 90.
It's hard to see how something (brown suede) that goes with everything and which is worn by some men to the exclusion of all else could possibly be seasonal.
...but only when it's absolutely dry. When the chance of rain is zero.
A shoe specifically designed for the Southwest, obviously. When the chance of rain is zero.
Each Sunday I look at the weather for the week. If there is zero chance of rain all week, then the suede comes out on Friday morning.Acceptable all year round...

I don't care to wear suede in rain either. Each Sunday I look at the weather for the week. If there is zero chance of rain all week, then the suede comes out on Friday morning.
I guess you'd have to settle for no rain that day...So not a very cost-effective shoe if you live in Seattle then.
