They went to Tom Ford? :icon_headagainstwal
I'm okay with Tom Ford. If only they fit Daniel Craig's suits are well as Tom Ford fits his own. He's one of the few fashion designers who is inspired by Savile Row and he doesn't go for the shrunken look. But someone in the Bond crew does and it's not a very flattering look on Daniel Craig. The Tom Ford suits in the last film fit much better and looked pretty good.

I posted the video on my blog last week and the comments have been quite varied: https://thesuitsofjamesbond.com/?p=990

I suppose TF can make a great suit, it is not the brand that I would expect Bond to be wearing. As you mentioned it is Savile Row inspired, but it isn't Savile Row. Let's face it Bond aught be wearing heavily tailored clothing, he needs to look well, be able to function, and conceal a PPK; keep in mind in my 007 world he'd be going to a tailor not costume designer.

I know Tom Ford suits are high end but I can't say I am a fan of the (what I would call excessive) tapered leg on the pants. Seems a bit too tapered for my taste. I was surprised to see Bond sporting a single vent jacket though.

I'm not a big fan of the sack suit, but this does seem extreme to me. He comes across as a bit of a cudgel-wielder with that fit. I suppose they were trying to emphasize his physique, but to my newbie eye, did so in an unrefined manner. Bond is not someone who tries too hard.

+1. Relax things a bit. The blatant, stuffed, exaggerated cut that seems to have originated in a country not to be named, shouts; common, and look at me! You're right,

"Bond is not someone who tries too hard."

I would have been surprised if they changed designers. The Omega / Tom Ford combo was used in the previous Daniel Craig Bond. I would agree that a English suit maker would be nice, but the preference has been Tom Ford and Brioni for the recent movies. At least they went back to the Aston Martin for the car.

I like the more form fitting slimmer style suits, however, this is a bit much. He might as well be wearing spandex. That can't be comfortable to do all those stunts in. Anyone know how big he is? Doesn't look any taller than 6'.
He's a very slight frame and not very tall. I stood next to him at Heathrow airport about a year ago. I'm 6'0" and felt like I was stood by my father who is 5'8". I see Craig's profile on IMDB lists him at 5'10" which he might be in his Tom Ford Cuban heels!

I hear he's about that height. I'm the same way. My driving licence says 5'10" but I'm closer to 5'8" in stocking feet. And they put Craig in really low-rise trousers too, probably the worst thing if they want to make a man look taller.

Wow you guys love to nitpick and criticize. It's almost funny. There's a complementary thread on Styleforum filled with keyboard jockeys criticizing the suits in Quantum of Solace. You can't please everybody. . .

This looks "shrunken" and "try hard" to you? Srsly? Below is a capture from the video - where should the fabric be cut looser? And why? If you had that body you'd look good in that suit also. Thom Browne is shrunken - this is simply fitted.

The older Bonds did not have the muscular physique of Craig.

Maybe male internet suit-hobbyists think Craig's clothing is too tight - but the three aged 25-35 y/o women I've polled says it almost makes them - shall we say, excited. I'll go with their opinion.

Don't wear a suit like Craig's if you are the delusional tub-of-lard fatty on the right in the picture below, or the very skinny guy on the left. If you're the guy in the middle, or Craig himself, you look great in it:

He doesn't look shrunken - he looks like an extremely athletic guy in a suit that shows off his body. The wear-looser-clothing crowd here sometimes sounds like the bitter fat girl at a club bad-mouthing the hot women who wear body-hugging dresses that she can't. There are very few men who can wear suits like Craig does without looking ugly. And it's usually the product not just of genetics - but of a whole lot of self-discipline in nutrition intake and blood/sweat/tears in the gym that most guys aren't willing to endure. I say celebrate them.

DC looks fine in his suits, and physically he looks to be in great shape as well.
The issue (at least for myself) is: do the suits and how he wears them reflect the "Bond" character?
I actually enjoy the darker bond character over some of the extremely light hearted ones, on the other hand the suits don't scream 007, especially not if they are too fitted as they are too revealing. A man in Bond's position needs to put his enemies at ease thinking they have the upper hand.
