Are we supposed to be displaying our underwear now??? I thought that was just for gang members.

I have always had a problem with the military showing undershirts with open collars but I suppose that is so they can make sure the rank and file are actually wearing one.

As responsible adults I thought we were supposed to wear v necks or triditional undershirts with open shirts?

Most guys don't feel this way, although I realize that most in this forum do. It's never bothered me in the least to have a tee shirt showing underneath an open collared shirt. Heck, I buy various colored tee shirts just for this reason.

I don't understand your question in relation to the thread title. The "Hanes Lay Flat Collar" is a feature that has nothing to do with what kind of shirt you wear it under. The benefit of the lay-flat collar is that, "Wash after wash, the collar on this tee wil lie flat, just where you want it." I guess they are saying that other undershirts without this feature might have a collar that curls up after many washes, creating a lump around the neckline of the outer shirt. In any event, I don't see any suggestion on the Hanes website that this undershirt be worn with open-collar shirts, so that's why I don't understand your question in relation to your thread title.

Regardless of whether you prefer V-neck or crew neck T-shirts, the collars on some brands pucker-up, after a few washings, while others do not. It would seem from the commercial you referrence, this adds to the marketability of Hanes' T-shirt offerings...makes sense!

Are Hanes T-Shirts still made in the USA? I used to wear them back in the late 90's. Then they stated to be made in China and the quality went down the drain. Last time I saw a Hannes T was in Target and it looked pretty cheap.
