He sure seems to love em. Not my style, but it's nice to see a politician with a little flair. Maybe he will rub off on Trump a little.

And just when you thought Treasury Secretary was the boring cabinet member...

Velvet peak lapel blazer ripped from the pages of styleforum!

I'm opposed to the idea of a three piece suit worn without a tie, but I guess if you get one made in a fabric this loud, a tie is just kind of a distraction. Also, triangle of death. Points for effort, though.

This might be the same suit as in the first post and it appears to have a ticket pocket as well. Nice shoes too.

Is that velvet jacket a dinner jacket? I know the lapels aren't black but everyone, including the men in the background, appear to be wearing black so I'm wondering if he's at a black tie function. It's pretty baller regardless.

It's hard to say. If it is, I will allow it, even sans bow tie. I've seen enough photos of him wearing correct black tie to assume that he knows the rules.

If it is in fact a dinner jacket, I pray that it makes an appearance at some White House functions.

Agreed. Nice use of loafers with a suit.

I have been on the single breasted peak lapel thing for about 5 years. Not saying all my suits and jackets are that way but maybe 40%. I like the look.

It helps that he's got the physique to pull it off. He is also a product of Hollywood so perhaps some of his stylistic sense is due to that.

As for the triangle, I'd give him a pass as he does have his arm around the lady, which would naturally pull on the jacket. It appears absent in the other pics.
