Default Alex Begg Cashmere

I just got my second Alex Begg scarf, and wanted to take a moment to sing its praises. The cashmere Begg uses is spectacular; it has a weight and lustre that's unlike anything else I've ever seen. It simply looks and feels rich. I only wish they made sweaters out of the stuff.

I realize that this may sound like I'm shilling for Alex Kabbaz (who sells them, as well as FIH, I believe) but please be assured, I'm not. This is just one of the most decadent practical purchases I've ever made, and I figured I'd spread the word while it was still cold.

I have examined some and I think your description is accurate. They are the best quality cashmere scarves I have seen.

I make do with lesser Italian and English made cashmere scarves but you can't beat the quality of the Alex Begg versions.

Begg are sited in the next town to me so I'm probably guilty of rooting for the local side. You are however totally right, they do produce some of the finest cashmere around and certainly the best that I've ever had the good fortune to come across.
IIRC They do make other goods, sweaters included. I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure I recall seeing some on my last visit to their factory. Maybe Alex will confirm either way ?

Well, last time I asked Alex, he told me that Begg are single minded in their devotion to making only flat things. Scarves, shawls, throws. That seems silly to me, but presumably the Scots know better.

I should mention that I bought the second scarf as a replacement for the first, which was stolen by an i-banker of dreadful morals but impeccable taste at my squash club. So there's another vote in favor of their ultimate desirability.
