Leatherman LTD Watchbands
Anyone have any experience with these? What do you think? What's the width?

Leatherman LTD watchbands
Yes, don't waste your money!! They don't wear well and they look cheap--not classey at all.

I have no experience with them, but they look nice.
Should one wear the jolly rogers facing the hand or the arm?

I should clarify - does anyone have experience or know the width of the motifs?
(I can get the stripes at Central...)

I bought one from there and wasn't real happy w/ the quality. It didn't last long. I finally just bought the strap on the bottom of this page: http://www.timefactors.com/nato.htm . It's a much better material.

I ordered about half-a-dozen of these last year, so I can make a few comments. The grommets are not particularly uniform in thickness so make sure that there is enough space between the watch and the pin to accomodate them or be prepared to pull a few out.
The straps are nearly as thick as the ones Brooks Brothers used to make. That said, Brooks brothers does a much better job on the loop (for lack of a technical term). The loop on the Leatherman straps is a single layer and gets worn down w/ minimal use.
The weird thing I noticed is that of the ones I ordered, the striped ones were absurdly long, which was not a problem w/ the patterned ones. My wrists are of normal thickness (perhaps even a bit on the thicker side) and I have to use the narrowest setting, and the watch still fits loose. If you have any skill w/ a sewing machine (which I do not), this should be relatively easy to fix.
I do have to admit that I really like the patterned ones. I have one of the fish ones which I wear during the winter to remind me that I actually get to do fun things when school ends for the year.
So, to summarize, on the plus side--nice thickness and fun patterns--and on the negative--crappy loops and so-so grommets.

I'm too lazy to blow the dust off my old, old posts about Leatherman bands, with which I have quite a bit of experience. Worn 'em for years.
I like them. Different from the NATO G10 straps. Two layers of grosgrain with a layer of cotton in between. Sewn, with just a wee bit of glue I think. These are the bands that Andover Shop have been carrying for years. The grommets aren't a problem if you wear a Hamilton Khaki field watch, the older LL Bean field watch, or a Timex Marlin. All feature plenty of space in between pin and case to accommodate the grommets.
The supplier of the old Brooks bands is no more, and the closest thing you'll find to them are the Griffin & Cooke bands, which are also very good. Thinner grommets.

I don't have experience with these but I like them very much. They look similar to the BB bands I picked up, which I like due to the band retaining loop on the back. This would be a good option because they have some of the more desirable features that you can't get from Central but are about half the cost of the BB's.
