Troll Control
As a somewhat infrequent participant on the Interchange, I am perhaps not the best qualified to initiate this thread. However, I find myself regularly struck by the vitriolic outbursts consistently exhibited in posts offered by specific forumites and shortly followed by admonitions from others not to feed the trolls. In contradiction to those rather wise admonitions not to do so, we then proceed to "feed the trolls!"
There have been a number of informative and entertaining debates on the interchange but, the senseless character bashing and baiting to incur argument rather than honest debate, engaged in to such an aggregious degree by at least one forumite (and occassionally a second), adds nothing of substance to the conversations and argueably detracts from our potential enjoyment of participating in the forum. I suspect the forumite in question was one of those kids who was picked on mercilessly in the school yard and today he is a cyber version of the angry teenager, coming back to the school yard with his semi-automatic, assault keyboard to even the score. We can avoid becoming his targets by ignoring his posts...perhaps the troll will change his ways or find another venue to terrorize?Last edited by eagle2250; November 26th, 2006 at 07:13.
