Default What do you carry your lunch in?

For those that take lunch to work, what do you carry it in? I see some people carry it in a separate lunch bag and also carry a briefcase, while others carry back packs.

Sorry, but what has this got to do with fashion?

I carry my lunch in a lunchbox. It is large enough to stash other items as well.

Easily falls into the same category as a briefcase or luggage. Probably more pressing since those items have always been designed for the fashion conscious. Most lunch bags or boxes I've seen are designed for elementary school kids.

I bring my lunch in the center part of my Filson 257 briefcase. Sometimes when I bring more than can fit I take it in a small Bean tote.

Carry lunch to the office, old boy? How uncivilized! Luncheon is best served with three martinis and a porterhouse then a 90 minute kip!

As has been said by others in this thread, my briefcase was also my lunch box, to include a thermos of coffee for the commute to work!

Like most that have replied, I usually throw my lunch into my Filson. I've been thinking about getting something nicer than a plastic shopping bag to store it in the office refrigerator, though. Our pals at Leatherman Ltd. have this little gem, which I think would be a nice, simple option:

Paul Fussell might agree that a brown paper bag, especially a used one, would be the way to go.
I like Hardline's suggestion, but it might get swiped along with your lunch.
Depending on where you are in life, it may be close to time to ditch the backpack.
After googling Trip's Filson 257, I've determined my next unnecessary purchase!

In the ubiquitous tupperware lunchbox in my (work provided) work bag.
(a kind of cross btween a messengger bag and small holdall)
As I am not a fan of refrigerated bread, it then lives in my locker until break time.

Great suggestions there, hardline_42 and OldSarge. I appreciate the craftsmanship of the Eliza B. bag, but the functionality of the Duluth box. Hm...

Usually I don't bring my lunch in anything besides one of those insulated reusable shopping bags and transfer the contents to the office refrigerator. It survives the half hour commute just fine, but I do want something a little more... upgraded.

I'm thinking to just putting my lunch in a white plastic bag, saves me a lot of money of not having to go to the store and buying brown bags.

I carry mine in a very small brown burlap tote with rope handles. The interior of the burlap is some sort of plasticky coating I can't really place, but it keeps spills in and my lunch dry if I set it on something wet. Purchased at an outdoor market in Hyderabad for 75 INR.

Ask this question of those that carry their lunch in a department store bag such as from Neiman Marcus: http://www.google.com/search?q=neima...2F%3B640%3B428
